Robocop - Review

The "Robocop" delivers to semi-succeed in this recent installment.  I really did like the configuration and story for this movie, it was unique and flawed very thoroughly.  The story revolving around an officer in duty who gets severely injured getting the chance to live through a different aspect of life is very cool and interesting.  The visual effects and works for the movie were also greatly done on the screen.  However, there are some scenes that I found very disturbing and I didn't enjoy seeing them.  Considering this is a somewhat family orientated film, I really think it was not good to be placed in the film.  I don't want to spoil what it what was that was disturbing to see, but it makes you want to look away from the screen.  I get the movie's idea of trying to portray this, but it was not a good fit, though it works with the film.  I also didn't like how the film spanned for almost two hours and it felt like you were watching a three hour, Transformers film.  Lots of the movie could have been cut or shortened because it gets choppy and lengthy.  I thought this was a Michael Bay film for a few moments in the film, it felt as if it were influenced by him, which I didn't like.  Overall, it's not a bad or great film, but it's one to see if the time is allocated.

Lego Movie - Review

From the moment this film starts till the end of it, you have no idea what is going on or understanding the plot persuaded in the movie.  It was so hard to go along with and cope with because it was like watching a randomized Saturday morning cartoon.  I also didn't like how the movie used famed characters of other assortments to draw attention to the film, because it failed to do that.  I also think the film used references to other works that much of the young audiences won't get and I think the movie shouldn't have done that.  All in all, it's not a good movie to any extent, but the animation was really cool and I can give it that.

Monuments Men - Review

A long, dry film can sum this film up in a nutshell.  The story revolving around a group of men who attempt to save art stolen by the Nazis in World War II is only roughly a third of the movie.  The movie takes many turns and it doesn't stick with the plot, which is bothersome.  Part of the movie has parts where you don't understand what is going on and questioning why it is in the film.  The acting by all the "Monuments Men" was very subpar and didn't attract your attention the slightest bit.  The only acting that I found good in this film was by the role of Cate Blanchett who was truly admirable to watch in this film.  I also thought the movie went much longer then it actually needed to and I can't really recommend this film to you.  If George Clooney wishes to continue directing, he needs to find better ways in doing so to fulfill his films in the future.

That Awkward Moment - Review

For starters, this was not a bad film at all, it is quite enjoyable to say the least.  The 3 main characters (Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan, and Miles Teller) all had a charismatic that clicked together, which collaborated well.  They all shared the same motives in the film and had interesting, yet comical ways of going about it.  There were quite a few funny lines in the film that made it hard to resist from laughing out loud.  The story progressed quickly and had a uniqueness to it that made the movie a good watch.  There is not much to say that is negative about the film, other than that I recommend you check it out.

Ride Along - Review

Where do I start with this film, God only knows.  When, a film is overly promoted, bad things are only bound to come out of it, as that is the case with this movie.  The combination of Kevin Hart and Ice Cube is great, as their characters vary significantly, but work very well together.  Hart's comical self is what only makes this movie enjoyable really.  However, his personality in the film is what's enjoyable, but the lines that he said that were supposed to be funny were not comical at all.  Ice Cube portrayed an overly tough character who you just wanted to knock right off the screen as he was overly obnoxious.  The acting on all ends, aside from Kevin Hart, was atrocious and was very minimal to watch, it was worse then a soap opera show.  The story is your typical cop training film that is supposed to be comical, but fails to do so.

Nut Job - Review

First off, the title can give so many wrong ideas about this new animated film.  Luckily, the audience it's geared to won't be able to configure those ideas, hopefully.  The hour and a half film felt like watching an over-watched Saturday morning cartoon, as it felt like it was never going to end.  Some of the characters were enjoyable to watch, but some of them were so obnoxiously annoying that you wanted to throw popcorn at the screen to make them scatter off.  The story has some originality to it, but the film failed to follow its' steps of being a semi-enjoyable film.  This has to have been one of the worst animated films that I have seen in a while.  Bring tequila, lots of it, if your going to watch this.
